The name

At the end of the day, the hardest part about brewing beer is naming the beer. For this Mauri (head brewer at The Tank) put our heads together and, after much furious debate and a few thrown chairs we landed on Heaps Good. Little bit of Aussie slang inspired naming.

 

BEER FACT

Bohemian Pilsner (or Czech Pilsner) is a pale lager originating from 1842 Pilsen, characterized by a golden color, rich maltiness, and spicy Saaz hop bitterness. It has a fuller body than German counterparts, typically 4.1–5.1% ABV, and 30–45 IBUs, often brewed using decoction mashing and soft water.

  • Malt: Bohemian Pilsner malt, acidulated malt, carafoam

  • Hops: Magnum, Perle, Saaz

  • Yeast: W34/70

The Pairings

Grilled and roasted meats, BBQ, Chicken, smoked and spicy dishes, latin/Spanish cuisine, shellfish, salmon, and more delicate fish, pasta, salty snacks (i.e. pretzels).
