Vienna Waves

The Basics

Style - Vienna Lager

ABV - 4.0%

Description

A smooth, amber lager with balanced toasted malt sweetness, a tropical hint, and a crisp finish. Collaboration with Shojo Brewing Co.

The NAME

We got super creative on this one: the name comes from the base style of the beer (Vienna Lager) and the “waves” portion comes from the tropical character the new strain of yeast used gives the beer.

BEER FACT

Originally developed in Vienna, Austria by the same wild card that developed Vienna Malt (Anton Dreher – Legend) this beer style is remarkably similar to the German Marzen. Perhaps the most well known example of this style of beer is: Dos Equis Ambar. Additional fun fact: a lot of Mexican beers were originally developed/brewed by German immigrants following one of those big wars people were getting into around the 1940s.
